an ultimate information machine materializing our memories about the ephemeral genealogy of ever existed Consumer Generated World Wide Web. coming to us from the future (around 2070 AC) "m/e/m/e 2.0" tells stories of few dozen popular websites, shadows of which are archived within the system. opposed to immaterial contents of its subjects, pages of "m/e/m/e 2.0" are hard-copies made of circuit board material; they are mechanically shifted and exposed before the image sensor. surprisingly, the machine is connected to the ][nternet and the contents of "m/e/m/e 2.0" can be navigated via conventional interface of a web browser.
today, with the rise of MIDs (mobile internet devices), web OSes and applications, "m/e/m/e 2.0" reminds us of oddnesses of web two dot zero. emphasizing on alienated characteristics of peoples ][nternet the project questions the dogmas of "global electronic pasture" -- intellectual property, privacy, online interaction and virtual ownership is what concerns the author most. creation of new and better network environment owe to have a reality check, leaving obsoleted ideas behind.
after the power is given, "m/e/m/e 2.0" creates it's own wireless network, allowing the spectators to access the system from the computers situated around or even using their own laptops or mobile devices. only a web browser is necessary, "m/e/m/e 2.0" functions as regular web server. the network is setup in such a way that any HTTP request is redirected to the system, creating a sensation of "another Internet". when it happens that more then one user would browse through the system, the "surfing" sessions will become to intersect with each other. physical system can not be "shared", unlike it's digital analogy it is not re-multipliable. seemingly a constrain becomes a feature - unbodied cyberspace getting filled with physical presence.
